- Blue Badge holders
- Blue Badge holders are exempt — register the vehicle on Heathrow's Blue Badge exemption page.
- Notes
- Increased from £6 to £7 in late 2025. Charge applies 24/7. Forecourt is for drop-off only — parking is not permitted.
Gatwick Airport
- How to pay
- Pay online within 24 hours via gatwickairport.com/dropoff. ANPR cameras at North and South Terminal forecourts.
- Free alternative
- Long Stay car park (~15 min walk to terminal) is free for the first 2 hours. Free shuttle bus from Long Stay every 10 min.
- Blue Badge holders
- Blue Badge holders exempt — register vehicle on Gatwick's exemption portal in advance.
- Notes
- Steep increase: £5 (early 2024) → £6 (mid-2024) → £10 (January 2026). The biggest jump of any UK airport. Both North and South Terminal forecourts charged 24/7.
Stansted Airport
- How to pay
- Pay before exit at on-site machines, online, or via the Stansted Airport app.
- Free alternative
- Mid Stay car park is free for 60 minutes pickup. Long Stay charges apply but is cheapest for 1+ hour stops.
- Blue Badge holders
- Blue Badge holders entitled to extra time but charge still applies — check official page for current policy.
- Notes
- Charge applies 24/7. Always verify the current overage rate on the official page before travelling — Stansted has historically been the most expensive for stays beyond 15 minutes.
Luton Airport
- How to pay
- Pay online via the London Luton Airport website or app by midnight the day after your visit. No barrier or kiosk at the zone.
- Free alternative
- Mid Term car park: 15 minutes free for drop-off (walking distance to terminal).
- Blue Badge holders
- No Blue Badge exemption in the drop-off zone. Blue Badge holders get 30 minutes free in Terminal Car Park 1 instead.
- Notes
- £9 for the first 12 minutes, £1 per minute after. Charge applies 24/7. Non-payment brings a £95 enforcement charge, reduced to £55 within 14 days. Luton's Mid Term is the most-used free alternative for Aylesbury-area drivers.
Birmingham Airport

- Pay online via birminghamairport.co.uk/dropoff or at exit barriers.
- Free alternative
- Premium Set Down (Drop & Go) — close to terminal, charges apply. Free option: mid-stay car park with shuttle.
- Blue Badge holders
- Blue Badge holders entitled to free 30-minute stay — register vehicle in advance.
- Notes
- Held at £6 through 2026 — one of the most stable charges in the UK. The 15-minute window is also one of the most generous.

Manchester Airport
Currently the cheapest forecourt drop-off at any major UK airport at £5, but with the shortest 5-minute window. Held steady through 2026.
