The booking
A couple returning from Sharm El-Sheikh booked a pickup from Luton Airport to a B&B on the edge of Haddenham, about 5 miles from the Aylesbury base. The flight was due to land at 2am on 3 July 2026. They gave the flight number, easyJet EZY2612, and a postcode and street name rather than a house number, with a description of what to look for.
What happened at the airport
The flight landed 35 minutes late, at about 02:35. The driver followed it in the Flighty app and waited in the Long Stay car park, where waiting was free for two hours at the time, rather than paying to sit in the pickup zone.
Two WhatsApp messages were sent while waiting. The first asked the couple to say when they had their luggage and were walking to the pickup point (postcode LU2 9QT). The second asked which row letter they were standing at, since the Luton pickup zone is split into lettered rows. When they replied with the row, the driver moved from the car park to the meeting point and they met there.
One large suitcase and one small bag went in the boot of the estate car with room to spare.
The drive to Haddenham
The journey ran in the early hours, before the M25 overnight closures that week, so it was uneventful. At the postcode there was one building that could be a B&B and the driver, who had passed it many times, recognised it. The couple were dropped at the door and the driver went on to the next airport job. The passengers left a five-star Google review afterwards.
What was included
- For pickups from the airport, the arriving flight is checked and the pickup time follows the actual landing time. 60 minutes of waiting is included.
- The 35-minute delay cost nothing extra. Every route has a fixed price agreed before travel. There is no meter, no surge pricing and no night surcharge.
- ULEZ, tolls, parking and airport drop-off charges are included in the fare.
- Every journey is driven by a private hire driver licensed by Buckinghamshire Council, DBS-checked, with a council medical and an annual vehicle inspection.
- Transfers are in an estate car with room for up to 4 passengers with 3 large and 2 small suitcases. Child seats are available free on request.
Why it matters if you are booking a night pickup
Give the flight number, not just the landing time, so a delay moves the pickup instead of stranding you. Expect a message asking when you have your bags and which row you are standing in; replying to both means the driver is at the kerb as you arrive. If your destination has no house number, a street name and a short description is enough.
